At Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Primary School, we are proud to be a joyful, faith-filled community where Christ is at the heart of all we do. Inspired by the example of Our Lady and guided by our school motto, we strive to ensure that every member of our school family feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow in faith, knowledge and love.
We are committed to providing a high-quality Catholic education that nurtures the spiritual, moral, intellectual, and physical development of each child. Through a rich and engaging curriculum, we encourage our pupils to develop their God-given talents and to achieve their full potential in all areas of life. Our teaching is rooted in Gospel values and Catholic Social Teaching, helping our children to recognise the dignity of every person, to act with compassion and integrity and to become courageous advocates for justice and peace in the world.
We believe that each individual is a precious and unique child of God. As such, we seek to create an environment where everyone feels respected, listened to, and celebrated for who they are. Our school promotes the regular teaching and practice of Christian virtues—such as kindness, honesty, resilience, and forgiveness—which underpin the way we live, learn, and work together every day.
Partnership is central to our mission. We work closely with parents and carers, recognising them as the first educators of their children and we maintain strong links with our parish, local community and the Diocese of Leeds.
Together, we share a collective responsibility to guide our children in faith, helping them to grow into confident, compassionate, and reflective individuals who live out the love of Christ in their words and actions.
